Keith Haring show at Brooklyn Museum

The Keith Haring show at Brooklyn Museum focused on his formative years from 1978-1982, which is when he was studying at SVA and when he started to develop the visual language that became the foundation of his future work.  One wall featured the flyers from events he hosted, and in a smaller side room, the soundtrack of his youth played while you looked at photos from the time.  I found the notebooks particularly fascinating.  You can see his thoughts and ideas as a young artist, and start to understand how these ideas became the large paintings and murals in his later years.
